About HCPE

The Hope Center for Personal Empowerment (HCPE) was formed in December 2000. The goal of HCPE is to provide practical self-defense classes to the women and children of the Champaign-Urbana community. HCPE's courses follow the curriculum of Rape Aggression Defense Systems, Inc., the largest network of its kind with over 2000 instructors actively teaching at various colleges and institutions today. As of December 2002, the R.A.D. network has trained over 250,000 women since the program began in 1989.

HCPE was formed to increase the number of RAD and radKIDS courses available in the community, in addition to the programs offered through other area institutions such as the University of Illinois and Parkland College.

HCPE offers both the RAD Basic and Advanced self-defense systems for women. HCPE also offers the radKIDS program for boys and girls ages 5 to 7 and 8 to 10.

HCPE is a Not For Profit 501c(3) Organization
