HCPE Instructors


Mitch Kutzko

Mitch Kutzko currently works for the NCSA at the University of Illinois.

Mr. Kutzko joined the R.A.D. Systems, Inc. (Rape Aggression Defense) program by certifying as a R.A.D. Basic Physical Defense Instructor in May of 1997. He received his R.A.D. Advanced Instructor certification in May of 1998, his radKIDS Instructor certification in March of 2000, and became a RAD Systems Instructor Trainer in July of 2001.

Prior to becoming certified as a R.A.D instructor, Mr. Kutzko taught a for-credit self-defense class of his own design for the University of Illinois Kinesiology department for two years.

In addition to his R.A.D. certifications, Mr. Kutzko has also been studying martial arts since 1975, and holds a 3rd degree black belt in Isshinryu Karate.

Mary Lancaster

Mary Lancaster holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Illinois, and currently works as an Emergency Medical Technician for Pro Ambulance in Champaign-Urbana, IL. She became a R.A.D. Systems, Inc. Basic Physical Defense instructor in March of 2000, a radKIDS instructor in March of 2000, a RAD Systems Instructor Trainer in July of 2002, and a RAD Advanced Self Defense Instructor in July of 2003.

Ms. Lancaster teaches R.A.D. both as an independent instructor with various area programs as well as through the University of Illinois Police Department.

In April of 2003, Ms. Lancaster was appointed by the R.A.D. Home Office as the Director for Region 5, covering Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan.

Holly Wilper

Holly Wilper became certified as both a R.A.D. Systems, Inc. Basic Physical Defense Instructor and an Advanced Instructor in May of 1998.

Ms. Wilper also teaches R.A.D. both as an independent instructor with various area programs as well as through the University of Illinois Police Department.

Ms. Wilper has been studying martial arts since 1980, and currently holds a 3rd degree black belt in Tai Chi.
